The Ultimate Guide To Installing Your In-Ground Trampoline?
Installing a new trampoline can be daunting but it’s not so bad when you have the right equipment and an extra pair (or two) of hands. The equipment isn’t difficult to use and you probably have them bouncing around in your toolbox.
In this guide, we’ll tell you how to safely install your in-ground or above-ground trampoline so you don’t have to call an installation guy. You’ll be your kids’ new hero and they’ll finally stop bouncing off your walls.
To ensure your trampoline is safely assembled and installed, follow these instructions.
For an in-ground trampoline install
1. Fit all tubes of the metal frame together except the anchoring tubes that will be driven into the ground.
2. Use the assembled frame to measure the size of the hole that you will need to dig by marking where your anchoring tubes will be driven into the ground and then drive them in.
3. Dig a hole 26 cm inwards from where the surrounding anchoring tubes will be placed. This hole must be at least 34 inches deep.
4. Connect your frame to the anchoring tubes.
5. Hook the metal springs to your jumping mat and then connect the mat to the frame using the other end of the springs.
6. Place the safety mat over the springs and be sure to secure them with the fasteners provided.

For an above-ground trampoline install
1. Connect the metal tubes that make up the legs of the trampoline.
2. Connect the tubes that will make up the frame that the jump mat will be attached to and attach them to the legs.
3. Hook the springs provided in the kit to the jump mat (equally spaced).
4. Hook the other end of each spring to the metal frame.
5. Install the safety mat on the trampoline to cover the springs and secure the mat with elastic fasteners.
6. Ensure that two hooks are tied on the flap of the safety pad.
7. Place the assembled trampoline on a flat surface to avoid it toppling over due to imbalance when in use.

What’s in an in-ground trampoline kit?
An in-ground trampoline kit comes with:
- The attachable tubes that make up the frame.
- The tubes that secure the trampoline frame in the ground.
- A jumping mat.
- The springs that attach the jump mat to the trampoline.
- A safety mat to cover the springs.
- All the necessary bolts/screws and fasteners for the frame and the mats.
- All the necessary keys and wrenches to tighten the bolts/screws and fasteners.
- The enclosure (if ordered).
In-ground trampoline drainage
Most in-ground trampolines don’t require a drainage system such as Avyna In-ground trampolines, for example. It’s only recommended if the trampoline is installed in an area with frequent and heavy rainfall.
If drainage is necessary, we recommend looking into installing a French drain. For your convenience, our trampolines are designed so that the drainage can be installed even after the trampoline has been installed.
For added safety, we recommended that all trampolines are installed in a bed of gravel several inches deep instead of just soil. This provides a better base for your trampoline. Remember to maintain the recommended depth for your in-ground trampoline.
